Open the SQL Server Business Intelligence Studio (BIDS)

  • Click on Start button
  • Click on All programs
  • Click on "Microsoft SQL Server" Folder (Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2)
  • Then Click on "SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) "
  •  Start Page - Microsoft Visual Studio will open. Click on Create project to create new SSRS project. Highlighted in the below screenshot.
  • New "Project Window"  Will open.
  • Select the Report type (Report Server Project Wizard, Report server Project, or Report Model Project), type the project name in the 'Name' text box, and give the required path using browse button in the 'Location' text box.
  • Click on "OK" button.
