Grouping and Drill-Down Reports

• Open BIDS
• Open/Create required solution.
• Add a report with the name "GroupingAndDrillDown".

• Create 'Data Source' and 'Dataset'.

• Insert a table in Designer window and add required columns.

• Right click on Table (Highlighted in the below screenshot).

• Select "Parent Group" then "Tablix group" window will open.

• Select "Dept_ID" from the 'Group by' drop-down list. Click on "OK" button.Then the 'Group' will add.

• Click on "Preview" then report will open.

• Group is created, now we need to create drill-down.
• Go to "Visibility" section and select the "Hide" and "Display can be toggled by the report item" Check box's.
• Select "Dept_ID" from the "Display can be toggled by the report item" drop-down list.

• Click on "OK" button. Go to "Preview" then report will generate.

• Report is generated.
